Woke Thanksgiving

Hang-on to your Christian values.

Honor your Mother and Father.

The new times and seasons want to erase our beloved history

as if the freedoms they enjoy are not their heritage.

As if it is shameful, and all those people in the past were

xenophobic, homophobic racists and to share a tradition

with them is sacrilege.

We grow and learn from the past and honor each little step

that has made us better.

I suppose you need to cross the sea with King James at your back

as many of your beloved died sick on the journey. I suppose you

need to reach the shore and find a barren land that taunted your hunger.

And I suppose when you found a bounty of wild turkeys to

quell that hunger you might give thanks.

But it's not the heritage of the woke ones.

Their greatest suffering is... is...

Well, I guess I just could not see their suffering

as they pop down to the deli for a turkey sandwich.

Cuckoo Birds

Cuckoo Birds

When I was in my early twenties, and that is ages ago,

I would say to myself, ‘If I had only been born long ago when

land was free I wouldn’t have to pay so much.’

I was trying to save for a down payment on a house,

and things seemed so expensive.

I knew rich acquaintances in college and their parents

gave them a down payment.

It all seemed so unfair.

Fact is, if I lived in the time of the settlers when land was free,

I would have had to hewn down the trees while I fought off bears.

I would have had to scratch the earth in hope for a crop.

There was not a doctor if I got sick.

There was no convenient store to grab a beer.

It is all about the differential of having and not having.

Children need to feel history and not just read about it.

Unfortunately, most don’t even read about it.

They just want with.

The Irony is that you spend much of your life acquiring and

ultimately the house, now that the kids are grown, is a burden

you can't wait to get rid of.

What is the point?

The point is... freedom gives you the ability to make stuff.

Socialism, the equalizer, gives the cuckoo bird the right

to a house they refuse to build for themselves.

MEDICARE

No one who gets hurt on the job goes unaided.

No one who can't work because of a disability goes without aid,

it is call Medicaid.

No child with a disease goes without care.

No Hospital in the US can refuse an emergency.

That sounds like we already have Medicare for all, but

wait a minute...

Is perhaps your health your responsibility?

You cannot do bad things and expect good results.

No worries mate, they will fix you up, party hardy man.

I can drink and smoke and pig out, hell

life sucks, its not my fault.

So now lets subsidize bad behavior and

tax the rich guy, it's his fault anyway.

I hope you realize the sarcasm.

I believe in personal responsibility.

Savor the Day

Here is a prose from my collection.

Every day is the same

Every day is the same to me and that is a good thing not bad.

It is just that I have to deal with it, this lovely labor.

Labor as in giving birth or as with a straining back early in the day, for a job you love and want done.

It is something I have to deal with this lovely labor.

Would that it should go away I would want to have it back; this labor, this lovely labor.

For you see I labor to understand why a woman as beautiful as you loves a man like me and I pray you will never stop, for surely, I will weep to have that labor back or die in vain.

Big Crows

Big Crows

I suppose you just need to be in a situation where

there is no law enforcement officer around, and

the perpetrator of a crime against you

is powerful.

Fear will shiver you to the bone; you are helpless.

The gun is rightfully called the equalizer.

Some of them crows is mighty big.

In the vernacular.

The second amendment was understood by country folk

that were all alone in the wilderness.

And, if you think because you are in a city, and not

in the wilderness you don't need a gun, perhaps it is

just perspective. Perhaps the city is more of a

wilderness than the wilderness.

Here is an existential fact.

I love existential facts.

The only reason you can't take over America

is because the individual has guns.

And if you don't agree I suppose you just

need to experience the fear when someone

comes through your door at night,

and you don't have a gun.

If you are a Christian, regardless of denomination,

you have a guide book on how to raise your children.

You have a moral guidebook.

Parenting is never easy, but without the how-to guide

you are left with the world deciding your child's fate.

Now basically the world teaches that everything is A-Okay

and shame on you if you don't like it.

Stand tuff and blow your Gabriel's Horn.

Everything is not A-Okay.

It is truly Biblical, the moral decay of our society.

It's intellectual existential logic searches for odd justice.

If it cannot logically see anything wrong with an idea,

it then must be A-okay.

Sexual freedom is a right and don't tread on me.

So, to keep it simple, the human race only has one problem;

copulation without responsibility.
